The gift is hidden in the giving

Organ donation is a noble, voluntary act. It is a gesture of solidarity, a sign of humanity, trust and inner peace when we openly confront our own death and our attitude towards others. By donating, we enable someone to receive medical treatment with an organ transplant.

In Slovenia, organ donation is not permitted without consent. People have the right to make an autonomous and voluntary decision about organ donation.

Organ transplantation

Professional, ethical and caring

Transplantation treatment is an established, successful and often the only medical treatment for many diseases. In Slovenia, patients have access to top-quality treatment. They can rely on world class experts for the procedures from donation to transplantation.

Yet transplantation treatment is not feasible without voluntary organ donation. Anyone might become seriously ill and need an organ transplant. A thought-provoking fact is, that statistically we are three times more likely to need organ transplantation than to become an organ donor after our death. An unknown donor can save our lives or those of our loved ones.
