• If you wish to become a donor and consent to donation of parts of your body after death to be used for transplantation therapy, you should come in person to the Slovenia Transplant (ST) head office or one of the donor registration points across Slovenia.
  • You should bring with you a picture ID and your health insurance card, and you will be asked to sign a donor statement in front of an authorised person.
  • Since November 2018, the donor statement form is also available in digital format on the Slovenian government website. For online registration as an organ donor, you need a valid digital certificate issued in Slovenia.
  • Consent to donation of parts of one’s body after death can be given by anyone over 15 year of age. (Younger persons need the approval of a legal representative.)
  • Your donor statement is stored in a special electronic data base managed by Slovenia-Transplant, which is protected by the most advanced safety tools.
  • Access to the data base is granted only to authorised physicians after the registered donor’s death.
  • If you wish to check the status of your data on the donor statement, authorised ST staff will be glad to help you.
  • You are free to withdraw your consent for donation at any time; authorised ST staff will help you do this at your request, or you can do it yourself if you have signed your donor statement online.
